THE PROJECT
The design and build contract removed slabs from former garages and created four apartments with associated external works.
CONSIDERED CHOICES
Air-source heat pumps, photovoltaic roof tiles and insulation around 10% better than Building Regulations reduce running costs.
Crushed concrete was reused as fill and hardcore. Soakaways, local purchasing, bird and bat boxes, and wildlife-friendly landscaping support a considered environmental approach.
PROJECT DELIVERY
Restricted backland access required small vehicles and sequenced deliveries. Utilities were coordinated within the sole access route and licensed remediation addressed asbestos from the former garages.
Just-in-time call-offs, off-site waiting and regular resident communication supported delivery on the constrained masonry site.
