The project removes the foundations of a former house and creates a bespoke five-bedroom children's care home with living accommodation, offices, and enhanced hard and soft landscaping.

The building is designed to Net Zero standards with passive detailing, insulation around 10% better than Building Regulations, and air-source heat pumps with underfloor heating to both floors.

Photovoltaic and solar-thermal panels provide renewable energy. Soakaways, local purchasing, integrated bird and bat boxes, and wildlife-friendly landscaping extend the environmental approach.

The four-metre private access between occupied homes requires small vehicles, off-site waiting and just-in-time deliveries. Utilities, asbestos remediation, deep foundations and structural steel all require detailed sequencing.

Enhanced security, access control and modern mechanical and electrical systems are being coordinated for the building's sensitive use.
